ASAC Participates in National Drug & Alcohol Fact Week
National Drug and Alcohol Fact Week was March 21-27 and April is Alcohol Awareness Month. This can be a time to encourage a conversation with youth about the facts of drug use and dependence. It provides an opportunity to bring together students, educators, healthcare providers and community partners to improve the prevention and awareness of substance misuse in our own communities.
CDC Recommends Additional Boosters for Certain Individuals
Boosters are safe, and people over the age of 50 can now get an additional booster 4 months after their prior dose to increase their protection further. This is especially important for those 65 and older and those 50 and older with underlying medical conditions that increase their risk for severe disease from COVID-19 as they are the most likely to benefit from receiving an additional booster dose at this time.

We want our community to be safe and healthy, so let’s work together to understand the effects of alcohol.Alcohol works by slowing down the brain. When alcohol is paired with caffeine, a stimulant that increases brain activity, the brain has a difficult time processing the amount of alcohol that is in the body.
